“We had a precise idea for the character of the ‘Betű’ [Letter] room from the very beginning. We wanted a large bookshelf with a ledge in the middle to allow guests to read in a nest of fine cushions and blankets. The shelves in our home were filled with German or English translations of every available work of Hungarian literature because Albrecht - who has since learned Hungarian - wanted to really get to know me by reading my favourite works in a language he understood. As a result, he had plenty of work to do carrying all these books across to the Gardenhouse! The literature is also joined by albums of art I collected during my university years.”
